    What's it all about?
    –––

We are increasingly being presented with wonderful patterns on top of our lattes and cappuccinos in the UK’s top espresso bars. These patterns, or latte art, are produced by the way the velvety textured milk is poured into the rich brown crema of the coffee.

The Latte Art Championship seeks to find those best at this skill, challenging them in 8 minutes to make patterns on two macchiato, two cappuccino (all just by how the milk is poured), and two signature patterns, where tools can be used to etch patterns if the barista desires.

Judges assess the obvious visual appeal of the drinks alongside technical skill and flavour.

The rules of the Latte Art Competition

The Latte Art Competition rules are different to the UKBC rules, they are essential reading for those going into the competition

We suggest you print out two copies, one for you and one for someone who may be helping you train or giving some input into your routine.
